Philippians is one of Paul’s most personal letters. This church that he planted gave him much consistent pleasure and joy. Philippi was one of those places that pulled at his heart strings to spend as much time with them as he could possibly manage. Whenever he was free, his heart automatically thought of being with this dearly loved church. Thus when he wrote this letter to them, his heart brimmed over with love and he openly shares with them his deepest yearnings and passion for the One they both adored.

Paul exposes his heart to one of the most affectionate and faithful congregation which he planted. This letter just overflows with expressions of praise, confidence and rejoicing, despite it being written from prison.
